What
does first spring to mind, when someone talks about Mallorca the island in the Balearic archipelago? Do you also
picture cheap hotels and semi naked boys and girls sipping sangria from a
bucket? Mallorca the island in the Mediterranean Sea also has got fantastic
landscapes, delicious cuisine and lots of history and art. I wanted to visit
desperately ... And here is where we stayed and had many best time ever
moments.
Brondo Architect Hotel – Cowgirl meets wanderer
Staying
in the middle of Palma, in a stylish and fun place, it should be a little bit
like visiting someone at a private residence but with everything a hotel has to
offer. After a quick web search I found what I was after: Brondo Architect
Hotel right in the middle of the historic center of Palma. The hotel is a place
where shabby chic meets cowgirl, meets relaxed luxury, meets tourist and
wanderer. We could not have wished for a better place. Our room was decorated
in minimalist style and had with a bedroom, a sitting area, a hallway with
vintage fridge and a bathroom enough space for a most comfortable stay. Breakfast
was sumptuous and outright delicious and to be had on the wooden deck or in the
colourful restaurant.
We paid EUR 230/night/double room inclusive breakfast at Brondo Architect Hotel. Carrer Can Brondo, 4, 07001 Palma de Mallorca, Spain.

Es Petit Hotel Valldemossa - Rustic plus majestic view
Valldemossa
is surrounded by the Sierra de Tramuntana mountain range. This unique hotel is
on a narrow cobblestone road, which runs directly into the centre of Valldemossa, and it is only a leisurely walk of 1 or 2 minutes. If you would like to,
you can park your car in the front for some moments, to unload luggage, and
park your vehicle at a nearby parking space after that. The owner opened the
door to welcome us after we rang the doorbell. The tiny hotel with only 8 rooms oozes the charms of a house in a mountain village. Our room is best
described as inviting and had a big enough bathroom. When we entered we
instantly felt at home, so friendly was the atmosphere. The breakfast was served
on the sunny terrace and offered everything you can dream of including lots of
homemade goodies. Mornings were blissful, listening to nothing but the sound of
sheep and the bells of the goats. The breakfast area as well as our private
balcony overlooked the whole valley full of orange and olive trees and it felt
like we were in a painting. Do you know that feeling?
We
paid EUR 175/night/inclusive breakfast and parking at Es Petit Hotel Valldemossa. Calle Uetam 1,
07170 Valldemossa, Mallorca,
Spain.
Boutique Hotel Calatrava – Calming elegance & beach
This
hotel had only recently opened when we checked-in for 5 nights. The property is
in a fabulous location, close to La Seu, the gothic Cathedral and in a friendly
part of town. Our room, one of 19 others, was airy and modern, decorated in
a beige, red and grey colour scheme, and it felt and smelled fresh and inviting. The
bathroom area is all lean chic and has got the perfect strong shower. When we
wanted to use the sauna, Jacuzzi and hot stone lounges we simply had to book
the spa area one night in advance to have this calming space all for ourselves.
From the rooftop terrace of the hotel, you have the most amazing view of Parc de la Mar and over the bay, where the whole beauty of the sea and port is right in front of you. Just go up there and have a sunset drink, there was never anyone else on the terrace for a sundowner, it was simply romantic.
