Things to do on a stopover in Singapore

Who does not like to explore the world away from home? Wanderlust, that is what I go through constantly. I am in Singapore and I honestly can't remember how often I have been here before, it must have been quite a few visits so far.

It is a long day, so it is perfect how easy it is to travel from A to B, I take either the subway or a taxi. I go for a short hike at the Botanic gardens, because of the ginger garden. I visit the Hotel Ritz, because of the art. I make my way to Orchard Road because a little bit of retail therapy won’t hurt. After browsing stores on Ann Siang Road, I stroll through Chinatown, because of the culture and the cities best hawker stalls. To give you an idea, just think late 19th century when opium dens were in full swing.

Little India in Singapore

Eventually I land in colourful Little India, home of the Indian community, to spend the night at hotel Wanderlust. Little India is dominated by small cafes, corner shops, workshops and lots of souvenir stores. The next morning after breakfast at their lovely restaurant Cocotte, I go for a little stroll, grab a (hot) coffee in a plastic bag and visit the temple before I have to make my way to Changi Airport.

I never know when I am going to have my next stopover in Singapore, but one thing I know it is going to be great. What do you do when you are in Singapore? Looking forward to hearing from you.
