Travel inspiration: Home decor

Millhouse Kitchen, Western Cape, South Africa

Imagine yourself being out and about, travelling the world … And isn’t it more often than not that you hear yourself saying I wanna live like that? The other day I found myself thinking just that while having dinner at a Restaurant on Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset West in lovely South Africa. We had an excellent night.

In one of the dining rooms at the Millhouse Kitchen, they had very special wallpaper. It was love at first sight. I took a few pics of this indeed glorious 'piece of art' ... unfortunately, all my beautiful friends are sitting in front of the wallpaper, so I won’t be able to put one of it up on my blog. One of them already casually dropped he always fears that someday he will be mentioned on my blog. So it obviously would not be a great idea.

As soon as I got back home I did a quick bit of research and found a store where I could order the wallpaper. I bought the Sanderson Omega Cats wallpaper at a store in England and had it shipped over to Berlin; it is put up in my living room now. The wallpaper design with cat silhouettes was adapted from the 1940s textile Katter by Swedish designer, Victor Emanuel Lindstrand.

Where have you last been when you said I wanna live like that? Have you changed something back home accordingly? Cannot wait to hear from you. Have you checked out my Board A Place Called Home on Pinterest?

From Berlin with love
